What a fantastic week we’ve had!
Our Swimming Carnival last week was a wonderful success, and it was heart-warming to see the enthusiasm and participation from all our students. A special highlight for many was the land-based activities and the swimming sessions with Mrs Prasel and Andy, which brought plenty of smiles and confidence-building moments. Thank you to all the parents who were able to come along and support—your presence truly helped make the day memorable.
Learning in the Classroom
Our learning expectations and routines continue to be smooth and consistent across all grades as we build momentum in both literacy and numeracy.
Literacy
This week, students have been revisiting short and long vowel sounds, as well as exploring graphemes and digraphs. A favourite classroom activity has been the start of writing their own imaginative short texts, using The Three Billy Goats Gruff as their creative springboard. Their ideas have been both clever and entertaining!
Mathematics
We are continuing our focus on Place Value, with students reading, writing, building, and drawing representations of numbers. Next week, we will move into ordering and renaming numbers up to the thousands, and for some learners, even beyond.
Students have begun preparing their growth timelines for our upcoming Expo in Week 8. Thank you for your support in sending through an additional preschool photo—these have been wonderful additions to their projects.
Wellbeing
In wellbeing, we are continuing to strengthen students’ emotional literacy and equip them with strategies for managing big emotions in healthy and effective ways.
