At Badger Creek Primary School, we endeavour to provide an inclusive and positive learning environment for all of our students. We use a range of strategies and programs to encourage respectful relationships, support emotional regulation, and promote positive connections. Our wellbeing practices are underpinned by our school values – Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be a Learner.

We deliver a whole-school wellbeing curriculum, where students engage in weekly wellbeing lessons with their classroom teacher. These lessons explore the Zones of Regulation, SWPBS (School Wide Positive Behaviour), and Respectful Relationships. In addition, classes run a Circle Time each morning to support Social and Emotional Learning. This provides students with regular opportunities to discuss their thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment.

We also understand that some students require targeted and individualised wellbeing support and strategies. Depending on the individual students’ needs, this could be in the way of classroom differentiation, Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and/or Behaviour Support Plans. Teachers may also refer students to our Wellbeing Support Officer.
