Positive home-school relationships are beneficial to student wellbeing, behaviour and academic outcomes. School Council is an active part of the Badger Creek Primary School community. Members have the opportunity to provide valuable viewpoints and skills from their own experiences, their children, and from the wider school community.
Sub committees of the School Council help govern many areas that are of vital importance to the efficient and safe operation of our school. Our sub committees include Resources, Community, Buildings and Grounds, Education and First Nations.
School Council elections are held annually. The term of office for each elected member is two years with casual vacancies being filled as required. Parents and community members are encouraged to participate – all your ideas and opinions are highly valued.
A School Council’s function includes:
- Developing, reviewing and updating the policies of the school
- Supporting the supply of goods, services, facilities, materials and equipment that are required for the conduct of the school
- Raising funds for school related purposes
- Exercising a general oversight of the buildings and grounds and ensuring that they are kept in good order and condition
Our school is lucky to have an active and enthusiastic school council made up of parents and carers of students from across the school.
