Celebrating NAIDOC Week

Throughout the first two weeks of term 3, our students have been celebrating NAIDOC Week which falls on the first week of the school holidays. Our students unpacked the importance of NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme ‘The Next Generation: Vision, Strength and Legacy’. Each grade participated in our first deadly door competition, where students created a class display to represent the NAIDOC theme. It was wonderful to see how engaged and excited our students were by this activity. If you have a moment, please visit your child’s classroom to see their display!

We continued our NAIDOC celebrations throughout house rotations, where each house participated in some Yulunga Games. Our First Nations students worked alongside our house captains to teach students 4 games; Pirrha, Marn-grook, Choobu-Chuboo, and Jillora. It was great to see everyone participate and enjoy some traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander games.

Well done everyone!
