Can you believe that we have only been at school for 68 days!?
The Preps have continued to blow our socks off with their amazing efforts in Reading and Writing! Since our last update, we’ve been introduced to some new friends from InitiaLit—Eric Elephant, Danny Dingo, Hannah Hippo, and Ollie Otter. We’ve also started learning our first set of tricky words— “tricky” because you can’t sound them out.
It’s wonderful to see the Preps applying their growing letter-sound knowledge to read decodable texts and showing more confidence in taking risks when writing sentences. We’ve even started buddy reading…
Knee to knee, elbow to elbow, book in the middle so we can both see.
Knee to knee, elbow to elbow, you read to me and I’ll read to you.
When writing, we’ve been learning to write on the tightrope—keeping our letters sitting neatly on the line. With the help of our friends Pevan and Sarah, we’re also learning that sentences begin with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
Check out some of our amazing writing—we’re sure your socks will be blown off too!
