Our tricky words to focus on this week are put, do, as, like and very. We have also learnt the letters v making the /v/ sound in Vera vulture, x making the /ks/ sound found in flexible Max and
y making the /y/ sound for yawning yak. We have really put a focus on writing our letters neatly and accurately using the lines. It has taken lots of concentration, but we have improved a lot. Well done! We have also been practicing reading using decoding to sound out words.
We read Sally Morgan’s beautiful book the river and then created our very own. We learnt about how we can listen and look, using our senses to notice things and then use them as ideas for writing. Here are some of the beautiful writing pieces we created including our chomp, chomp, chomping crocodiles:

During Maths we have extended our knowledge of position and location. Earlier this year all of the Prep students had a very strong grasp of this topic. Therefore we have been able to look at the other curriculum areas, to extend our learning using grid references and finding the location of objects using the co-ordinates, such as (A,4.) We then learnt about coding and practice using BeeBot robots to move to certain locations/positions. We all loved that we challenged ourselves to learn new tricky things! Check out our fun below!

In Inquiry, we have explored the colour blue and different materials to make a river for our goats, to float, in our aluminium boats! Next we get to make a bridge. You will be able to see all of their designs at our upcoming expo at the end of this term.
Well done learning legends! Marissa, Imogen and Kaisey.
