It’s been another wonderful, fun, and amazing week in Prep! Our clever Preps continue to blow our socks off with their growing letter-sound knowledge and are confidently using this to read and write CVC words — absolute superstars!

This week, we were introduced to two new friends from our InitiaLit program: Fifi Flamingo and Rosie Rabbit. We also explored the engaging text, A Walk in the Jungle. Before reading, students made thoughtful predictions about what might happen in the story. As we read, we unpacked new vocabulary such as dare, tender, and lumpy, and had rich discussions about their meanings.

Using inspiration from the story, students created their own sentences based on events and ideas from the text. We finished off the week by making our very own snakes — a fun and creative way to connect with the jungle theme!
