Year 1/2’s are learning all about addition in Maths. After brainstorming all the key words around addition, students have been building their strategy toolkit to help problem solve addition facts quickly.

Knowing our number facts to 10 (friends of ten) is one of the most important strategies to have in our toolkit. If we can recall these confidently, then we can start working with larger collections. We had lots of fun practising our addition skills using concrete materials like tens frames, counters and playing games with cards.
