It has been a busy fortnight in Prep Land! Term 3 – Week 4 Update

Last Friday, our Preps did a FABULOUS job leading the Acknowledgement of Country at assembly — and they even signed it in Auslan! We are so proud of the confidence and respect they showed.

Last week was swimming week — by gosh, it was a big week, but what superstars our Preps were in the pool!

This week in the classroom, we have welcomed Kaisey, who will be with us for the next four weeks while she completes her university placement, yay!

In our reading sessions, we have been exploring the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts, “non-fiction means real, it teaches us something. It is not fiction” – Kaspar Along the way, we discovered that the longest earthworm is an incredible 3 metres long!

Our Tricky Word Tree has also grown, with the addition of all, ball, call, tall, and little. We’ve also been introduced to the digraphs /sh/ and /ee/ as well as the double consonants /ll/ as in bell, /ss/ as in hiss, and /ff/ as in sniff.

In Maths, we have been learning about different times of the day and exploring which events take a long time compared to those that happen quickly. For example, “Playing an actual football game takes a long time and two star jumps take a short time” – Evie

We told you it has been a busy week!
