Students in Prep have been learning about numbers to 10 and 2D shapes in Auslan this term. They have played ‘Red Elbow’ and ‘Touch the Shape’ within the classroom and are using their creative thinking to find shapes within shapes during these games. Students have used maths blocks and whiteboards to show their number and shape knowledge and are working on making sure their hand shapes and movements are clear.
In 5/6, students have created sets of family flashcards that have been printed and sent home to teach their families the signs. They have continued to work on their fingerspelling, to read and sign people’s names to successfully place them in a family tree. Most recently, students have used their fingerspelling knowledge to read the days, months and seasons. Their final project this term is to put all of their hard work into practice to sign their birthday.
