InitiaLit Celebration Parade!

This week, our prep students enjoyed a special parade to celebrate completing all 126 InitiaLit lessons, what an amazing achievement! To mark the occasion, students were invited to come dressed as their favourite InitiaLit character. Our parade was filled with Tommy Tigers, Flexible Maxes, Ollie Otters, Poppy Princesses, and even some sparkling Jan Jellyfishes!

Throughout the InitiaLit program, our VERY clever Preps have learned letter names and sounds, begun exploring digraphs, practised blending sounds to read words and then moved on to reading sentences, learned and applied their tricky words, and worked hard on correct letter formation and writing sentences… the growth we have seen has completely blown our socks off!

Inviting families to join us for the parade was a wonderful way to acknowledge the hard work, growth, and enthusiasm the children have shown throughout the year. We are so proud of them!
