The holidays are almost here, and it’s the perfect time to explore our local area.
Here are 10 free, cheap, or low-cost activities to help keep the kids busy this summer!
Healesville Outdoor Pool
One of our favourite summer spots is open, cleaned, and ready for swimmers!
There is early-morning lap swimming from 6:30–9:00am on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and the pool opens on days over 25°C.Find out more here.
Maroondah Dam
Fancy a wander through the beautiful gardens, or perhaps you’re up for the Park Run, 8 am every Saturday morning. Or your child might like to be a part of the Junior Ranger Programs in January.
Healesville Library
The library has some fun activities for kids during January. Have a look at the events calendar to find out more!
Visit a school
Families are always welcome to visit and respectfully use the school grounds — we love having extra eyes on our space!

Queens Park
There is a plethora of things you can do at Queens Park. Did you know you can hire a tennis court for $10 for half an hour? You can book it here.
Go to a Weir
You might decide to go to Badger Weir or Donnelly’s Weir for a walk, a BBQ dinner or a paddle in the water. Remember they’re open till 8pm through summer
