Grade 5/6 Update, Term 4 – Week 4

Grade 5 Captaincy Applications 2026

Families of our wonderful grade 5 student’s may have heard that we have begun writing our captaincy applications for 2026. This is a very exciting time for our future captains and involves each student writing an application to a range of criteria, followed by an interview with leadership.

The grade 5’s are being supported to write their applications at school, and we also had a wonderful panel of grade 6 captains sharing their leadership journey and answering many of our future leader’s questions.

If you can, take some time to ask your child what position(s) they are applying for and why. It will give them some great practice before their upcoming interviews in week 7.

Grade 6 End of Year Events

We are getting to the very special time of year where our grade 6’s can begin celebrating their primary school years. A few special dates for the calendar begin with the Big Day Out on Monday the 15th of December and Graduation will be held on Tuesday 16th of December. Both events will be live on compass very soon, with graduation invitations coming out next week.

Make sure you keep an eye out for compass posts and we will be sending home a few extra notes regarding all of the above over the next few weeks.

Grade 5/6 Transition

Tuesday afternoon we had our first Grade 5/6 Transition session.

It was wonderful seeing how all of the students collaborated within the space. We played a really fun game called “Race to 100”. But there was a twist, you could create a rule to apply to your dice roll to add another layer of fun. Such as every number you roll, you need to add 7, or every number you roll you need to times by 2. It was lots of fun and we really look forward to having our next session soon!
