Grade 5/6 Update, Term 3 – Week 8: Grade 5 Don Valley- Local Learning Day Project

On Monday the 8th of September, the Grade 5s had a day at the Don Valley Campus for our Local Learning Project Day. Each grade 5 was assigned a buddy, some had one, some were assigned two, that they spent the whole day with.

You were split into different groups, such as, the koalas, wombats, emus, possums and kangaroos. We did a range of activities within our groups; you did three for the whole day. Some of the activities were building tents, making slim, first aid and we played a game called ‘Pony Dance’.

For morning tea, we had chocolate chip cookies and for lunch we had hotdogs. Our buddies gave us tours and areas where we were allowed and not allowed in. The buddies had been there for a whole term and would be going home in about 2 weeks. It was a fun day and we learnt a lot about leadership and our buddies were nice to us. We got to know the staff at the campus really well, and we learnt stuff that we didn’t know before.
