As part of our InitiaLit Storybook writing sessions, the grade twos read ‘Today We Have No Plans’ by Jane Godwin.
Students first practised their comprehension of the story, answering both inferential and literal questions and then discussed ideas from the story. They had opportunities to make connections with the text, thinking about when they concentrate and daydream. From this, students wrote a persuasive text to convince the reader of why it is good to have a day with no plans.
Sammy and Lily.S convinced their teachers with some terrific reasons.
