Auslan Update, Term 2 – Week 6

There has been a math twist to Auslan of late. Students in Prep- 4 have explored 2D shapes, using signs to communicate what partners draw or use to make an image. They have also been trialling the use of descriptive signs such as size and location to add extra information.

Students from Prep-6 have also been learning numbers, ensuring their hands are facing and moving in the correct ways. This is especially important when you’re communicating details and playing games requiring specific numbers.

Everyone is doing remarkably well, using strong and clear hands! I look forward to sharing some of our Auslan games at this term’s Learning Expo.
